GRIF to Speak at Several High-Level Conferences
The Global Resilience Innovation Fund (GRIF) will be represented by Dr. Sabine Hampel, Co-Founder, General Partner, and Head of Investments, at several high-level conferences across Germany in 2026, engaging with policymakers, investors, and industry leaders at the intersection of government technology, finance, and critical infrastructure.
On February 26, 2026, GRIF will speak at the GovTech Gipfel by Handelsblatt in Düsseldorf. In April 2026, the team will join a panel at FIBE in Berlin. Later in the year, on June 16–17, 2026, Dr. Sabine Hampel will attend Handelsblatt’s KRITIS conference in Düsseldorf, focused on the protection of critical infrastructure.
These platforms bring together senior decision-makers to address resilience, security, and the modernization of essential systems-core themes of GRIF’s investment strategy.

GRIF at the Munich Security Conference and Official MSC Side Event
The Global Resilience Innovation Fund (GRIF) attended the Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2026, the world’s leading forum for security policy and geopolitical dialogue. Ahead of the official start, the team joined the traditional Munich Security Breakfast, where the message was clear: freedom must be earned through investment in security and resilience.
GRIF was also involved in one of the official MSC side events. Since 2020, Dr. Priscilla Schelp has been part of the organizing team of an official side event together with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and its alumni network. The 2026 edition at Amerikahaus Munich focused on cognitive warfare, one of the most underestimated challenges in modern security policy.

Members of the Global Resilience Innovation Fund (GRIF) team were present at several high-level international events in the same week, spanning finance, defence, and security across Europe.
In Davos, Faik Yargucu joined the Deutsche Bundesbank delegation at the World Economic Forum, representing GRIF among global financial and policy leaders. In Munich, General Partner Dr. Sabine Hampel attended the NATO DIANA 2026 Kick-offs event, engaging with the alliance’s innovation and dual-use technology ecosystem. In Berlin, GRIF’s leadership participated in Handelsblatt’s flagship “Sicherheit & Verteidigung” conference, one of Germany’s most important gatherings for defence and security stakeholders.

Dr. Sabine Hampel, Managing Partner at the Global Resilience Innovation Fund (GRIF), has been appointed as a mentor for the NATO DIANA accelerator, the alliance’s flagship program supporting dual-use and defence-related startups.
NATO DIANA (Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) connects innovative companies with test centers, funding, and strategic guidance across allied nations. As a mentor, Dr. Hampel will support selected startups with strategic, operational, and investment expertise, helping them navigate the complex defence and resilience landscape.
Her appointment reflects GRIF’s deep integration into the transatlantic defence innovation ecosystem and its commitment to supporting founders building mission-critical technologies.

GRIF Participates in WELT Security Summit with GPs, Advisory Board Members, and Portfolio Company CEO
The Global Resilience Innovation Fund (GRIF) was invited as one of only a few venture capital funds to attend the WELT Security Summit, one of Germany’s leading platforms for high-level dialogue on defence, security, and geopolitical developments.
GRIF was represented by two of its General Partners, Sabine and Priscilla, alongside board member Tim von Törne and Dr. Christian Schmierer, CEO of portfolio company HyImpulse.
The summit brought together senior political leaders and top executives to discuss the future of European security, defence capabilities, and strategic resilience-areas at the core of GRIF’s investment focus.

GRIFs advisory board: GRIF Establishes High-Caliber Advisory Board Across Defence, Technology, and Company Building
The Global Resilience Innovation Fund (GRIF) has assembled a strong international advisory board combining operational military experience, deep industry expertise, and hands-on company-building know-how.
The board reflects representation across multiple branches of the armed forces, alongside experts in defence, maritime security, AI, venture building, and technology scaling. Members include specialists such as Dr. Moritz Brake, as well as experienced entrepreneurs and investors like Tim von Törne, Maik Ludewig, and Bernhard Langer.
In addition to its public advisors, GRIF also works with a number of senior experts who add value more discreetly – its” – supporting both the fund and selected portfolio companies. The board is designed not only to guide the fund, but also to actively support portfolio companies with strategic, operational, and market expertise.

HyImpulse Funding Round Gains Broad European Media Attention
The HyImpulse’s recent €45 million funding round received extensive coverage across leading European and international media, including Handelsblatt, WELT/N24, Tech.eu, TechFundingNews, Silicon Canals, and several space and technology publications.
The round combined €15 million in Series A equity with €30 million in additional public financing, bringing the company’s total funding to approximately €74 million. The announcement, together with HyImpulse’s visibility around the Slush ecosystem, drew strong attention to the company’s hybrid rocket propulsion technology and its role in Europe’s sovereign launch capabilities.
The broad media response highlights growing investor and public interest in dual-use space technologies as a cornerstone of Europe’s resilience and strategic autonomy. GRIF participated in the round to support HyImpulse’s mission to provide flexible, cost-efficient access to space.

Global Resilience Innovation Fund completed first investment
The Global Resilience Innovation Fund (GRIF) has completed its first investment in HyImpulse.
HyImpulse was the first German company to successfully launch its SR75 suborbital rocket in Australia in May 2024.
The sustainable hybrid propulsion technology, based on paraffin as fuel, is unique and extremely efficient to the transport of satellites into space. HyImpulse reduces the number of components by around 50%, lowers costs, and increases reliability.
Europe currently depends on non-European launch providers – European are accounting for less than one percent of global launches in 2024 (Space Economy Report 2024). We are convinced that HyImpulse will become one of the key European players in the space sector and are delighted to be part of this future, together with HyImpulse.

On September 29th, 2025, GRIF held its first event at the IABG Space Centre in Ottobrunn under the theme“Space Industry in Europe: Regulatory meets Praxis,” bringing together leading voices from investment, startups, academia, and the civil & military sectors.
With keynotes from IABG, Gleiss Lutz, HyImpulse & Hypersonica, and a high-level panel featuring experts from Siemens Energy, Oetker Digital, and Palladion Defence Accelerator, the event highlighted space tech as a USD 630bn growth market in 2023 with an expected growth of 9% p.a. – essential for resilience and security.
